2 New features released, 5 problems fixed

New features added:

  1. Rehire: We have added this week a much awaited feature of allowing customers to rehire employees. The rehire process allows HR to go to an Alumni record and select the option Rehire Employee. The system captures Rehire date, also all other fields related to work assignment. This option therefore allows the same employee record to be linked to the rehired employee, thereby retaining all previous transactional history of the employee. The tenure of the employee however will exclude the period during the employee's separation. Also the system will prevent the employee from creating transactions for the separation period. Also when an Alumni is rehired, the leave balances of the employee are created afresh like for a new employee. The option of rehire can curently be enabled through request to us.
  2. Leave of Absence: We have also added a feature which will enable HR to mark employees as having proceeded on long leaves of absence. Typically such ling leaves of absence are for purposes like Study leave, Deputation, etc. So customers can now define such different absence types through Absence Type master in EIP section of configuration. While defining an absence type, rules can be defined for each absence type: Whether the absence will be counted in tenure of the employee or not, whether leave accruals will happen during the absence period or not. If such absence types are setup, HR can mark an employee as on one of the defined leave of absences with a start date and an optional expected end date. Subsequently HR can mark the end of the leave of absence with a End date. The system will not allow the employee to login to the system as long as the employee is within the absence period. Also the tenure of the employee will include or exclude the absence period depending on the defined rule. Similarly the leave accruals will happen or not depending on the defined rule. If the leave accrual is to not happen, then system will adjust leave balances as is done for a separated employee when the employee starts leave of absence and when the absence ends, the leave balances are created afresh as for a new employee. Again the system will prevent the employee from creating transactions for the absence period.

Problems fixed

  1. A problem in re-routing the expense claim for accounts approval, when the accounts person is changed, has been fixed.
  2. If a leave type had the rule to allow leave from Balances yet to accrue, if a user did not have sufficient balance even including balances yet to accrue, while the system was applying correct check, the balance figure in the error message was only showing Current balance. This has been fixed.
  3. In calendar name search, there was an error if the user did not select a particular name but only pressed Go. This has been fixed.
  4. A problem in HR leave has been fixed.
  5. A problem in changing Employee type of an employee has been fixed.
