Performance Plans

An Organization has different Performance processes for different employees, this section helps you in creating different performance plans as per your performance policies.

In this section you will define the Rules for Goal definition, Score calculation, setting the appraisers and Review cycle etc. So it has different sections to be configured namely

i.  Basic Details

ii. Goals

iii. Capabilities

iv. Training Needs

v. Self-development Plan

vi. Coaching Plan

vii. Appraisers Confidential Assessment

Steps for configuring each part are described below:

i. Basic Details

1. Click Performance in Settings section and select "Performance Plans"

    Performance > Performance Plans

   

2. Click "+ Create a New Performance Plan" and enter the Name and description of the plan.Select the Plan Period from the drop down as Annual or half yearly as per you performance policy

    

3. Define the applicability of this plan on the basis of Functions, Business Units, Role Groups etc as shown in the screen shot:

4. Define the eligibility of new Joinees on the basis of Date of joining or Confirmation, and give the minimum tenure after which they become eligible

5. Select "Yes" if you want an Average score at the end of Performance Cycle else "No"

6. Set the Appraiser as Line or Functional Supervisor and click "Save"

   

 

ii. Goals

1. Follow till step 1 of "Basic Details" section described above, and select the above created performance plan

2. Click on Goals section

3. You can deactivate a Goal level by clicking deactivate as shown below:

   

   This change will only be applicable to employees that lies in this performance plan

4. You can change the section name. Add the description and select the Review cycle frequency based on your performance policy.

   Frequency can be: Annual, Half Yearly, Quarterly and Monthly

5. Goal Definition: You can select the rule for Goal definition by selecting the below options. You can set the goals from Role-Goal Map, Add from Goal Library or can allow the Goals to be defined at the Goal setting stage.

8. Define the Review Rating Process:

You can also give the rights to the Reviewer to give his rating, in that case the reviewer rating would be final and goes to the appraisee for acceptance.

  

9. EmployWise allows 360 degree feedback by taking  Mutiraters' feedback. You can add this by clicking "allowed". Multiraters' rating will be visible to appraiser, which will help the appraiser in rating objectively.

Note: Multiraters' rating is not counted for scoring purpose

You can have multirater feedback from Appraisee's Managers, Reports and Peers. And you can allow the mutirater to leave questions unrated as shown in the screen shot:

 

10. In order to track the progress, you can have progress trackers. Set the tracker frequency and scale as per you requirement

11. You can define a new rating scale for Goals by clicking "Define new rating scale". And set the score rounding off rule.

12. Set the rule for Goal Score calculation:

     i. Manager: Only Appraiser rating to be included. In case reviewer edits only his rating to be included

     ii. Average: Average of only Appraisee and Appraiser rating. In case reviewer edits,only  his and appraisee ratings

    

13. Goals Workflow:

      Define the Start date and end date of each activity and set the notifications to be sent by SMS and Email by clicking the relevant option.

     

14. Click "Save".

 

iii. Capabilities

1. Follow till step 1 of "Basic Details" section described above, and select the above created performance plan

2. Click on Capabilities section

3. Select whether you want the applicable employee to be measured on capabilities or not, by checking Yes or No.

3. You can deactivate a Capability level by clicking deactivate as shown below.

   This change will only be applicable to employees that lies in this performance plan

4. You can change the section name. Add the description and select the Review cycle frequency based on your performance policy

   

5. Set the score rounding off rule

6. Define the rule for Raters Rating:

  i. You can make it mandatory for raters to rate all question

 ii. You may allow raters to leave question unrated. In that case the unrated question will not be counted in score calculation

   

7. EmployWise allows 360 degree feedback on capabilities as well, by taking  Mutiraters' feedback. You can add this by clicking "allowed". Multiraters' rating will be visible to appraiser, which will help the appraiser in rating objectively.

8. Set the rule for Capability Score calculation:

     i. Manager: Only Appraiser rating to be included. In case reviewer edits only his rating to be included

     ii. Average: Average of only Appraisee and Appraiser rating. In case reviewer edits,only  his and appraisee ratings

       

9. Define Weightage Rule: If weightages are required select "Required" else "Not Required"

   

10. Define Rating Rules: Select if ratings are applicable and then select the rating review process

You can also give the rights to the Reviewer to give his rating, in that case the reviewer rating would be final and goes to the appraisee for acceptance.

   

11. Click "Save".

 

iv. Training Needs

Training needs will generated automatically if an employee has not performed upto the required level. For the generated need trainings can be assigned to the employee, if for that need a training is added in EmployWise under "Training Module".

 

v. Self Development Plan

Based on self assessment appraisee can create a self development plan. By making this section applicable, the appraisee will be able to do this

 

vi. Coaching Plan

Based on assessment appraiser can create a coaching plan for the appraisee. By making this section applicable, the appraiser will be able to do this

 

vii. Appraisers Confidential Assessment

At the end of review cycle, the appraiser can create a appraisee assessment which will be confidential. It will act as reference for the future appraisal cycle  and helps him in setting the goals.

  

 To configure the last four sections:

1. Follow till step 1 of "Basic Details" section described above, and select the above created performance plan

2. Select the appropriate section and enter the section's

  i. Applicability: Yes or No

  ii. Change Section Name: If needed

  iii. Description: If Required

3. Click "Save"

 

Edit/Deactivate Option:

You can edit/deactivate a created performance plan by selecting the same by following the navigation steps as described above
